I’m Gene, aka VOODEEP.

I’ve always felt that life speaks to us through sound, movement, people, places, and the moments we don’t always know how to explain. Born in Europe and raised in Chicago, I grew up between different worlds—classically trained in violin, drawn to electronic music, and inspired by everything from deep house and jazz to Latin rhythms and ’90s hip-hop.

I’m a writer, musician, dancer, spiritualist, and a brother—but beneath all of that, I’m simply someone who follows energy.

Inspiration finds me when I’m walking through an unfamiliar city, discovering a new sound, creating with my hands, writing from the heart, or standing in front of something that moves me. Sometimes it comes from another artist. Sometimes it comes from within.

The modern spiritual abstractions I create is a reflection of that journey—a conversation between what I experience and what I feel.
