VOODEEP, aka, Gene, me... I'm a lot of things, a writer, an unconventional being, a musician, a dancer, spiritualist, and a brother. I can keep going but I think that's a fair amount.
 

I was born in Europe and raised in Chicago, IL, U.S.A. I'm classically trained in violin and played with music equipment in my teenage years. I started loving progressive melodic / deep house music, but of course depending on a certain mood my preference for a different genre will arise; everything from Jazz, house, latin, french to 90's hip-hop. 

Where do I get my Inspiration?

Artistically - It can be something as simple as taking a stroll through a neighborhood or city I'm visiting for the first time or it can be from another artist, additionally, I get it from my writings as well and the last couple artworks that I did were inspired by Art Basel 2025 events.

Musically - At a young age I played violin and taught myself a few songs on the piano so I'm classically trained. I grew up listening to euro-dance, 90's hip-hop and R&B, alternative, and rock. These genres influenced me at an early age. Influential musicians not with us anymore (sadly ) include Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Bob Marley and  Michael Jackson. Older influences include Marshall Mathers aka Eminem, Pink Floyd and Nirvana. New and older influential musicians in the electronic dance industry include, Eli & Fur, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buren, Jan Blomqvist, Yotto, Shane 54, Late Night Alumni, and many others.

I've played everything from a warehouse party in Chicago to a private yacht party in Miami, FL. Now living in Miami, I plan to keep pursuing my passion projects and intertwining my art and music into my brand, VOODEEP. 

I have many exciting  plans that I'm working on and absolutely can not wait to share them with you, the Miami community and the rest of the world ( in time ). Despite my early successes, I remain grounded and committed to use my art and music skills to create wonderful memories with joyous souls on the dancefloor and leave a piece of my heart in my many art creations to give to inspired beings. .
